"Defend the poor and
father-less: do justice to the afflicted and needy. Deliver the poor and needy: rid them out of the hand of the wicked" Psalm 82:3-4, kjv
"He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds." Psalm 147:3, kjv
Thank You,
Dear soldiers🙏🏽
You,
Who so selflessly guard our lives:
Sprinting with rucksacks to the front.
Those drafted,
Those whose service was forced
Perhaps, the fabrications of demigods and toxic régimes:
Those returning whole with shattered souls,
Those returning broken, souls heaped with woes.
Those who spilled scarlet
Unflaggingly, with ranks of mature and juvenile arms
Filling earth with moans
Of young and old soldiers
Marching, running, dodging irrational rancor,
Sacrificing for unknown faces
Pointing, dripping eerie reproofs;
Down history’s nose and toes.
Those soldiers who now recline in sepulchers of quietude
For the revered multitude of the brave:
You who did not know my face like I do not know yours,
Except
That our faces are melded facades
Of reds, whites and blues:
I,
Salute you.
This Memorial Day and always🙏🏽
